This comeback cruise line released new luxury ship details

Luxury cruise line Crystal is about to double the size of its oceangoing fleet by adding two new 690-passenger vessels, the first of which is set to debut in 2028.

The line has released details of the two new 61,800-ton vessels following the announcement of a partnership with Fincantieri, the Italian shipyard that will build them. Both ships will offer all-suite accommodations, including single-occupancy cabins. Each will also feature lengthy promenades similar to the ones found on Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, the Nobu restaurant Umi Uma, and grand casino spaces.

The vessels will also emphasize health and wellness in their comprehensive spas, which will offer a host of treatment options and large fitness centers.

Both ships will also include dedicated spaces for children that feature age-appropriate activities.

In a June 27 press release, the line said the ships’ interior design will feature “the most precious marbles, Italian fabrics and natural materials,” so passengers can expect to feel like they’re staying in someone’s high-end home.

“Our aim is to continue setting a new standard in cruising, offering our guests an unmatched level of service and sophistication,” Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, said in a statement. “These new ships will receive the same level of attention I have reserve to [sic] my own house.”

In 2022, A&K Travel Group purchased Crystal Cruises‘ intellectual property and two of its ships following the closure of its parent company, Genting, due to fallout from COVID-19. The line rebranded as, simply, Crystal, and its ships underwent extensive renovations before returning to service in 2023.

In the coming years, Crystal also plans to construct two expedition-style vessels and has an option for a third new ocean ship, which would set sail in 2032. The debut date for the line’s second new build has not yet been made public.
